This series of events aims to create a safe and community-focused space for Black, Indigenous and Persons of Color who are rope enthusiasts.

This edition of the BIPOC Jam will include a Community Skillshare, so if there’s anything you’re curious about learning or any skills you want to share, this will be the space for it.

– Bring your ropes, some loaner ropes are available on-site.

I have no experience with rope, can I still come?
Yes! All levels are welcome and there’s always a quick intro for beginners.
❓Do I need to bring my own ropes?
Loaner ropes are available on-site, but if you have your own, please bring them.
❓ I do not identify as a BIPOC person, can I still come?
This event is specifically geared towards Black, Indigenous and Persons of Color in our community, if you do not identify as one of those groups please refrain from joining. Studio Allegory hosts weekly jams that are open to all and you can check them out on our website.
❓ I’m a BIPOC person, but my partner isn’t, can they still join?
Not at this time, this event is geared toward BIPOC folks exclusively. Studio Allegory hosts weekly jams that are open to all and you can check them out on the website.
❓ I don’t have someone to tie with, can I still come?
Absolutely! Come solo or with a group. A jam is an inherently social event and a great place to make new rope friends!
❓ Are masks mandatory?
Yes. Masks are mandatory to protect the most vulnerable members of our community. There will be masks available on-site. Be COVID-conscious: please stay home if you feel unwell and take a COVID test before arrival.
❓ How accessible is the space?
This space is fully wheelchair accessible with no stairs. There’s a small separate area by the entrance that is designated as a Quiet Space with comfortable seats and noise blocking earmuffs. This is a scent reduced environment and an air purifier is always running. If you have any specific access needs please contact us and let us know.

Studio Allegory is on the ground floor and there are no steps anywhere in the space. There is a single washroom for all with a handle bar and an air hand dryer. We have unscented soap, and we run an industrial air purifier automatically. Studio Allegory has a kitchen corner with a kettle and a coffee maker, as well as a mini fridge and a microwave. Studio Allegory also has a quiet room equipped with fidget toys, colouring books, blankets, noise cancelling earmuffs, and stuffed animals. Upon request we can provide closed captions for our workshops running on a screen. We have masks for a small donation.
- Cancellation and refund policy:
If Studio Allegory has to cancel an event, we will either refund ticket holders or transfer tickets to similar events in the future, depending on the wishes of the ticket holder.
Cancellation by participants: Cancellation before 48h prior to the start of the event entitles the ticket holder to a full refund. Between 48h and the start of the workshop, we can provide a partial refund (50% minus payment processing fees.) or transfer of the ticket to a similar event in the future.
No refund or transfer can be offered for no-shows or cancellation after the event has started.
