Welcome to
Studio Allegory is a space for people to explore new and different ways of queer intimacies. As an open center for research in this context, we are creating and holding a space for community, education, research, as well as a small, carefully curated shop section.
Studio Allegory understands itself as a queer space that is open to all LGBTQIA2S+ folks and friends.

Take a peak and follow a small video tour through the studio to see what you can expect.
Education

Studio Allegory offers a wide range of educational programs revolving around queer intimacies. One of the main pillars of that education consists of Shibari/Kinbaku (rope bondage) as a practice that involves art, philosophy, bodywork, eroticism, and therapeutic aspects.
Shop
Our selection of products and books are handpicked and prioritize their quality, usefulness, as well as their production ethics and environmental impact.

Accessibility
Studio Allegory is on the ground floor and there are no steps anywhere in the space. There is a single washroom for all with a handle bar and an air hand dryer. We have unscented soap, and we run an industrial air purifier automatically. Studio Allegory has a kitchen corner with a kettle and a coffee maker, as well as a mini fridge and a microwave. Studio Allegory also has a quiet room equipped with fidget toys, colouring books, blankets, noise cancelling earmuffs, and stuffed animals. Upon request we can provide closed captions for our workshops running on a screen. We have masks for a small donation.
We believe that deviant sexuality is in and of itself nothing revolutionary if it simply perpetuates and reproduces the status quo of a white cis heteropatriarchy.
Studio Allegory, and its research and educational programs is seeking to abolish hegemonic and normalitarian approaches to kink, intimacy, and sexuality. To abolish them does not mean one should not engage in certain ‘normal’ encounters. We don’t want to take away anyone’s cliché hetero sex. But we want to get rid of the deeply rooted belief that this is the best or even the so-called normal way of encountering each other intimately.
